Compulsory Medical Treatment

6 April 2026 William Hughes

Happy Easter, He is Risen!

I wanted to provide another opportunity for you to communicate with your members of the legislative assembly.  Please take a moment to reach out to as many as you can and let them know what you think of the government forcing people to accept medical treatment they may not want.

A quick web search will pull up the following website:  Members of the Legislative Assembly

Please keep it brief and to the point.  It is particularly useful to let your MLA know that you live in his or her constituency.

Next Meeting of the Society

The next meeting of the Faith in Virtue Civic Society will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday, the 16th of April, 2026. The location will be 110 Lucyk Cr in Saskatoon. We look forward to your attendance.

The by-election for a trustee for the seperate school board will be held soon, with advance polls on the 8th of April, and the election itself will be held the 15th of April.

Please take a moment and reach out to the candidates (at this link) and ask each how they feel they exemplify the cardinal virtues of wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance.

I and another member of the society met with Giovani Yousif, a candidate for the school board by-election.

The Faith in Virtue Civic Society is a volunteer members' society dedicated to educating voters on the importance of recognizing the cardinal virtues in candidates and encouraging men of good character to serve their communities as leaders. We have reviewed the list of candidates currently running for school board trustee.

Mr. Giovani Yousif exemplifies the virtues we seek:

We need young men with new perspectives to serve with energy and vigor. We need Mr. Giovani Yousif's family focused and Christ centered perspective on the school board.

The Faith in Virtue Civic Society encourages people to choose leaders that exemplify the virtues of justice, wisdom, temperance, and courage. You can help by agreeing to let us contact you about virtuous candidates in various elections, supporting the Society, or volunteering.

What is the Good?

14 March 2026

We have published a new video in our Statemen series. What is the good, what are our desires, and what does this have to do with virtue? Enjoy, and live the virtuous life we all deserve.

Foundation Document

Purpose: To encourage men of good character to become politically engaged in society.

Why: Many of the problems that we face are made worse because men of good character avoid politics. They view politics as something shameful, associate it with falsehoods, and avoid it. Encouraging them to engage more fully in the regulation of our society will result in a better life for all.

What: We trust that a man of good character will act rightly. We are helping them achieve positions where they can influence our society. We do not support any specific party or policy.

Who: Someone who is an example of the cardinal virtues of wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance.

Wisdom is the property of knowing the right action to take at the right time in any situation. Wisdom is acquired through experience, either in person or from others. It takes time to gain wisdom. A wise man will be older, his community will acknowledge that he is wise, and people will seek his advice.

Justice is acting with fairness. A just man will ensure that the people around him receive their due portion. A just man will be honest, speak the truth, honor his agreements, and will deal fairly with all people. People will trust his judgments.

Courage is acting while in control of one’s fear. A courageous man will do what is right and accept the consequences of his actions. A man with courage will work diligently to achieve his goals and will not give up in the face of difficulties or opposition.

Temperance is acting with self-control. A temperate man does not give himself over wholly to a single obsession. He is of generally good health, exercises, does not eat or drink to excess, is chaste and modest, and avoids calling attention to himself. He is not controlled by his passionate emotions.

When: This effort will require decades to achieve obvious results and the work will never be truly complete. A long view of society as a whole is needed.

Where: We are guided by the principle of subsidiarity. We will work at the local level first and grow to a larger geographic area over time and as our resources permit.

How:
1) We will identify men of good character and recruit them to join our society.
2) We will help them to vote for candidates of good character in every possible election.
3) We will ask these people to serve on their parish councils, community associations, school boards, and other civic institutions.
4) We will encourage them to serve their various professional organizations.
5) We will seek candidates from amongst our membership to run for election in municipal, provincial, and federal elections.
